Several months ago I found out that I had won 2nd place in the Annual Arizona Highways Photo Contest for 2016 with my image "The Little Waterfall". To say that I was thrilled and surprised is an understatement!
Well, the September "Photo Issue" with the photo winners is finally out and available in stores. Those that have a subscription to Arizona Highways probably already have a copy in hand or will this week. You can find my winning image on pages 30-31 in the magazine.
I am truly honored for being chosen as a winner this year from amongst so many talented Arizona photographers. A BIG congrats to all of the winners!

TV Interview

Earlier this evening I was interviewed by Fox News regarding the following story......

Yesterday morning while at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, AZ... Jeff Stemshorn & I came across the mother Roadrunner hanging upside down from the cactus where she has a nest. Her talons had become entangled in fishing line and as she had tried to free herself from it.. she had fallen and become lodged in the cactus spines. We tried to free her but did not have the proper equipment, so Jeff called the ranger for help. The ranger & the cactus horticulturist were able to free her from the cactus and the fishing line to 3 hungry babies waiting for her. This is a good reminder as to why you should be picking up after yourself when fishing. Too many helpless animals each year die from becoming entangled in pieces of fishing line.....
